I like the Citroen SM but nothing comes close to the Dino 206 GT. I think it’s design is striking and I love the small-bore DOHC V6 derived from Formula 2. What’s your favorite V6 car?

In My Forza Horizon 3 game that car now has a 6.2L V12 so... I’m going with the Aston Martin V12 Vanquish. It has 2 V6s.

Fiat Dino Coupe.... The 2L version, same as the Ferrari actually. I’ve owned one and it was the best sounding V6 ever created... So freaking awesome to drive too...

Good question. The list is pretty short, since no one really
wants
a V6.
246 Dino
Lancia Stratos (see #1)
Citroen SM
That Alfa 2.5
VW VR6 (Which you could argue is a I6)
GM 3800
Taurus SHO
I realized that my list turned into engines rather than cars, but any list where a Taurus is in the top 10 proves the list is pretty short.

I have a soft spot for GM V6s, be it the 60-degree or the Buick V6. Somehow I really like that exhaust note on the W-Bodies.

The Stratos, SM, Dino, XJ220, Mk1 Vertigo, Merak and GNX are all indeed baller, but I’ve always been a fan of the OG Alfa GTV6...
also, who doesn’t love this sound:
and another Alfa with a (significantly different) v6, that also sounds phenomenal:
/used to own a V6 alfa...

For the first time ever, all three of our cars are V6 powered.
My wife’s Highlander has the Toyota 3.6L 2GR-FKS V6. Makes 278 hp and pulls that dead elephant with fair alacrity.
My 2007 Infiniti M35 has the venerable VQ35DE V6 making 275 hp. It’s not a relaxed experience, although I like it. And I honestly don’t get all of the hate that engine gets. It’s thirsty but eager. I think I’d prefer the 2009 model with the 7-speed transmission and an extra 30 hp, but I didn’t want to pay half again the price of the car to get it.
The best one though is the Busso 2.5L in my GTV6. If you don’t know why this is among the best V6 engines ever made, you don’t belong on this site.

RIGHT! Can’t believe I forgot that one. I also forgot about the Renault Alpine A310.
Taurus is still in the top 10.

Don’t forget the SE30, better known as SZ or Il Mostro. And the Sprint 6C, even if they only made two.
That 155 DTM was interesting, but I think its 90º V6 was based on a PRV block (or at least, the PRV’s basic dimensions). More than slightly different!

Stratos, no doubt.
But for something more usable daily, the Honda NSX-R would be the one for me.

yeah, the 155 ti-v6 is based on a PRV block, and the Sprint 6c, for all intents and purposes doesn’t exist in the real world, and the SZ is cool, but ugly as hell, leaving me still saying gtv6...

FTO, obviously.
In trivia news, Delahaye were the first to come up with the idea of the V6. They never actually made one though.

I have nothing against the GTV6, on the contrary. I have a Sei- spec engine lying somewhere with its six Dell’Orto FRPA carbs, waiting for better times to be fitted to a first-gen Alfetta GT body I am also keeping secreted away.
Granted, the 6C is practically a one-off. But what a car.
Don’t be too harsh on the SZ. It is certainly different (for want of a better word) and although its proportions seem to be all over the place, the thing has amazing presence. (Besides, the base design was by Opron too, just like the SM.)
A couple of years ago I went to a classic car show and right when I was leaving I found an SZ parked nearby. Took lots of pics, marvelled at how incredibly short it is, and got into my car (a 75 TS) for a 200 km drive home.
In the wee hours of the morning, in a long, long sweeping bend on the motorway, that same SZ passed me at warp speed. In torrential rain.

While I’d usually say the Grand National, I also love the 1989 Turbo Trans Am. A GN that can go round corners! This is a car built for those mullet bearers who have a hint of sophistication.

For me it’s the Lancia Stratos-as a car. As a car with a V6, it’s the Alfa Romeo GTV6...that exhaust note is my favorite sound in the world.
